About Me

I have a PhD in Psychology, a Masters in Psychology and a Masters in Organization Development. I bring to my practice 40+ years as a consultant, facilitator, administrator, organizer, service provider, and coach.

As a small business owner since 1986, I’ve learned that moments filled with pressure, anxiety, or doubt can be used as a catalyst for resilience, adaptation, and innovation.

I support growth that helps individuals navigate life and guides organizations toward resilience. These processes include focusing on the complex links among self, groups, society and community. I believe that greater self-awareness and new perspectives can free us from negative assumptions and attitudes, helping to transform discontent into constructive action.

Did you know?

Enhancing Self-Awareness

Self-awareness comes from understanding one’s strengths and weaknesses; values and beliefs; thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. A deeper awareness of self will emerge from seeing oneself through the eyes of others. This enhanced self-awareness can lead to better decision-making, improved relationships, stronger communication skills, better stress management and greater emotional intelligence.

Lessons in Nature

It is well-documented that being in nature contributes to personal growth, enhancing self-identity, self-efficacy, and self-esteem. Being in nature creates a unique amalgam of sensory acuities. Outdoor activities combined with visual, auditory, olfactory, and kinesthetic experiences have shown to have positive effects on psychological health and well-being.

The Nature of Impermanence

Impermanence is inherent in all things. As conditions and causes change, our experiences change. Our emotional and psychological well-being is affected by our ability to adapt to impermanence. An increased awareness of the impermanence of nature, gained through immersion in the natural world, can contribute to greater resilience and enhanced self-awareness.

Fly-Fishing and Leadership

Successful fly-fishing requires observation, experimentation, study and evaluation of the fish and their environment. Interestingly, leadership within an organization requires these same skills, with respect to the organization and its environment, to achieve the goal of a sustainable future. As in fly-fishing, observation and evaluation while being flexible and adaptable, is key to increased organizational productivity and profitability in today’s changing climate.
